BRITISH HUNTS

THE ANNUAL BRITISH PHEASANT HUNTS AT ETOWAH VALLEY

Break out of the winter doldrums and bring the family, friends, and business associates to what has become an Etowah Valley Tradition, the British Hunt.

The British Hunt consists of seven stations in a semi circle around a central bunker with two Hunters positioned at each station with ninety pheasants released during the hunt.

A full or modified choke is recommended for the Hunt. Hunters and observers are encouraged to wear orange hats only (orange logo hats available at Etowah Valley Lodge), blaze orange vests have a tendency to turn the birds. There is a Safety briefing before each Hunt.

·        The cost of the British Hunt is $125.00 per person.

·        The starting time is 2:00 pm.

·        Lunch is not provided.

·        The dates for the British Hunt are: 2/5-6,  2/12-
            2/13,  2/19-20,  2/26-27,
  3/5-6,  3/12-13,  3/19-20,  3/26-27

The British Hunt is a great opportunity to bring your son or daughter along as a Hunter or an observer (observers limited to sevenm total (1 per position), and OK'd by Etowah Valley at booking).





This half day Hunt is available from October through March on scheduled weekends for both individuals as well as groups; and on week days with advanced booking.



The North/South Dakota Fields

  The British Hunt consists of six stationary positions with maximum of two hunters per position.  Hunters rotate between positions for each of the six releases of twelve Pheasants.  Six pheasants are released for each hunter for a maximum of Seventy-two birds or twelve birds per release. Unless otherwise arranged the pheasants that are shot will be divided equally among the hunters.
British Hunts will normally start on weekends at 1:00 P.M. at our hunting lodge in front of a roaring fire and hunters who wish to warm up their shooting skills are encouraged to use our trap range prior to 12:00 P.M.

Hunters are encouraged to wear Blaze Orange Hats only. (aside from your usual hunting clothes!)



FLUSH HUNTS          
Available from October through March as Guided and Non-guided half and full day hunts by advanced booking only. All hunts start at 9:00 A.M. Or 1:00 P.M. at the lodge.

Guided Flush Hunts
Probably our most popular hunt, these are available in half and full day and are offered for one to four hunters. Minimum of four Pheasants, eight Chukka or twelve Quail per Hunter; a minimum of two Hunters per Hunt (or equivalent Birds). Guided by one of our experienced dog handler and his experienced dog or professional dog handlers and dog, with a choice of hunting locations with a variety of cover and terrain. Tips for your Guide are at the discretion of the Hunter and are not included in the price of the hunt. On all guided hunts the bird count is based on birds flushed as a reasonable shot; extra birds are available for all Flush Hunts.


Non-Guided Flush Hunts

The Non-Guided Flush Hunts are Half Day Hunts available for hunters with their own dogs and are limited to one or two hunters, self-guided. Three or four hunters may also hunt, but a Guide must accompany a three to four person hunt to ensure safety procedures are followed. Guide tips are at the discretion of the Hunter are are not included in the price of the hunt. There is a four Pheasant, eight Chukka or twelve Quail minimum per Hunter;  extra birds are available for all Flush Hunts. Dog lots are available when dogs are not working.
